About Amy.

Amy Reid is a third-generation Valley Center resident with deep roots in the community
and a strong commitment to public service. A graduate of Wichita State University, Amy
holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration and Marketing. She and her
husband, Matt Reid, raised their three children—two daughters and a son—right here in
Valley Center, where all graduated from Valley Center High School. Amy is also a proud
grandmother of four, who are homeschooled and live in the Valley Center school district.
Her parents continue to reside in town, making Amy’s commitment to issues affecting
multiple generations truly personal.

Professionally, Amy has dedicated 35 years to healthcare as a Registered Nurse. She
currently volunteers with the Sedgwick County Medical Reserve Corps Unit 92,
contributing her skills in times of community need. She also founded a nonprofit patient
advocacy organization, serving as its first President and now contributing on its
Advisory Council. As a registered lobbyist at the state level, Amy has advocated for
patients’ rights, focusing on expanding access to medical cannabis for those living with
cancer, chronic pain, and PTSD. Currently, she leads a regional team in medical
equipment sales, helping healthcare facilities across eight states obtain advanced
imaging technology.

Amy was honored to be appointed by Mayor Truman to the Valley Center City Council in
2025, filling the vacancy left by Councilmember Clint Bass. Now, she is running to
continue that service with a focus on thoughtful, transparent leadership. Her priorities
include promoting open and accountable government, improving communication
between the city and its residents, and encouraging economic development while
supporting local small businesses. Amy believes in preserving the small-town values
that make Valley Center special, even as the community continues to grow.
Engaging with residents and understanding their concerns is central to Amy’s approach.
She welcomes your ideas, feedback, and involvement—please don’t hesitate to reach
out.
